Get your disk space back
Copies pile up: the same dependency in every project, a build in every worktree, a photo in the archive and in the export. FLOGVIT.dedup finds every identical file on an APFS disk and makes the copies clones. They stay exactly where they were, with their names, dates and tags, and stop taking space until one of them changes.
In one developer’s folder of projects: 447,466 files looked at, 159.3 GB that could come back.
See everything for free
Scanning is free, and so is the whole report: every group of identical files, the folders the space is in, and what each would give back.
What deleting really frees
Finder counts every clone in full, and deleting a clone frees nothing while another file shares its blocks. FLOGVIT.dedup shows, folder by folder, what deleting it would actually give back.
It stays that way
Copies come back after a restore, a new worktree or a new install. Automatic mode clones them as they appear, when the Mac is on power and not in use, and backup disks get their clones back after every copy.
Safe, and you can see that it is
Every copy is compared byte for byte before it is replaced, and the two names are swapped in one step, so a file that is written to at the last moment is put back as it was. Every replacement is in a journal you can read, and Verify reads them all again.
Free during the beta
While FLOGVIT.dedup is in beta, everything is free with a FLOGVIT account. After the beta, reclaiming is part of FLOGVIT.plus: one subscription for every FLOGVIT product, not a lifetime licence for one app.
